The search for a new Vice-chancellor for Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU) has ended with the appointment of Professor Francis Ogbonnaya Otunta,
a professor of mathematics. He is expected to take over from the incumbent VC, Professor Hilary Odo Edeoga, whose tenure would expire in March 2016. The appointment of the new VC was announced in a statement signed by the Pro-chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Professor Anya O. Anya, saying that the appointment followed the successful performance of Prof Otunta in the interview for the job held in the University. He said the interview for the post of VC was conducted on Wednesday November 25, 2015, adding that the appointment was for a single tenure of five years with effect from March 1, 2016.
